A 5TPD batch type edible oil refining project is currently being installed in Nigeria. The equipment was ordered by a Nigerian customer for refining crude palm kernel oil and crude soybean oil.
The project uses thermal oil heating and is supported by an installation guidance engineer as well as Glory Oiltech (Henan Glory)’s branch and overseas warehouse in Ogun State.

Installation Progress
The on-site installation work started on March 19, 2026.
The installation is being carried out according to the equipment layout drawing and technical documents provided for the project.
The main units include:
- Degumming tank
- Deacidification tank
- Decolorization tank
- Deodorization tank
- Leaf filter
- Steam generator
- Vacuum pump
- Thermal oil heater
- Cooling tower
- Water jet vacuum pump
At the current stage, the main units have been lifted, leveled and fixed inside the customer’s workshop.
The next steps include connecting the thermal oil, steam and water pipelines and the electrical control cabinet. The project will then proceed with leak testing, no-load trial runs and the first refining test with crude oil together with the customer’s operators.
Why Was Thermal Oil Heating Selected?
The heating method for this project was selected according to the planned refining process and the customer’s operating requirements.
For a small edible oil refinery, the heating method should not be considered separately from the rest of the system.
Available energy sources, temperature-control requirements, operating conditions and maintenance requirements can all affect the selection.
This is why two refineries with similar capacities may still require different configurations.
What Oils Can a Batch Refinery Process?
Batch type edible oil refining equipment can be configured for different crude vegetable oils according to the required refining process and equipment configuration.
For this Nigerian project, the customer plans to process:
- Crude palm kernel oil
- Crude soybean oil
Other applications may include crude palm oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil and rapeseed oil, depending on the configured process sections.
Local Support in Nigeria
Equipment installation does not end when the machinery arrives at the factory.
For this project, an installation guidance engineer has been working with the customer’s local team during the installation and commissioning process.
The project also benefits from Glory Oiltech (Henan Glory)’s branch and overseas warehouse in Ogun State, Nigeria.
This local base can support spare parts, small auxiliary items and on-site assistance while the equipment itself is engineered and manufactured in China.
