 Rice bran is by-product obtained during rice milling operation. This is golden reddish cuticle obtained after removal of the husk and during polishing of the rice. Rice Bran Solvent Extraction Plant contains 16 to 22% oil and this oil is recovered by solvent extraction process.

Rice bran oil extraction plant introduction:
1. Oil extraction:
Oil extraction is to extract oil from oil oil base or pre-pressed cake to oil mixture and meal.
The major equipment of this section is extractor, and extraction pot is always used in batch extraction while continuous extraction uses loop type extractor, rotocel extractor, crawler type extractor, etc.
2. Desolventizer toaster:
Meal from extractor consists of 25-35% solvent. And in order to recycle solvent and get better-quality meal, wet meal drying is necessary.
And high bed desolventizer toaster is always used in pre-pressed leaching meal, while DTDC desolventizer toaster is always used for direct extraction meal.
3. Oil stripping tower/ oil stripper:
Oil mixture consists meal powder, solvent and oil. This step is to seperate these 3 indreginents by filtration, evaporation, and stripping.The major equipments for this section include filter, cyclone hydraulic separators, evaporator, stripping tower, etc.
4. Solvent vapor condensation and recovery:
Mixed vapor from desolventizer toaster, evaporator, and stripping tower should first be condensed to liquid by condensers, and then seperate solvent and water by water separator, and finally get recycled solvent to reuse in extraction.

National patent technology of sunflower oil refinery plant makes innovation on traditional sunflower oil refining process, acquiring deep acknowledgement of impurity removal, degumming, dehydration, deacidfication, decolorization and deodorization etc.

Introduction of sunflower oil refinery plant :
Impurity removal. Impurity of extracted sunflower oil must be removed in order to reduce losses and increase yield of sunflower oil in sunflower oil refinery process . Crude oil filter can remove impurities, control impurity of extracted sunflower oil under 0.2%, thus improve degumming efficiency.

Degumming process of sunflower oil refinery plant .
Intermittent process preheats crude sunflower oil to 80 ~ 85 ℃. The amount of water in crude oil bases on colloid content, and generally 3-5 times of the gum content, water temperature at 85 ~ 90 ℃ (5 ℃ higher than oil temperature). Finish water adding in 40-60min, along with 60-70r/min stirring, continue stirring 3-5min after adding water, and stand for precipitation 2-4h.

Vacuum drying process of sunflower oil refinery plant .
Heat degummed vegetable sunflower oil to 25 ~ 135 ℃, dehydrated into a vacuum dryer 20 ~ 30 min. Moisture of dehydrated oil is less than 0.1% (after degumming of crude oil via the oil contained in the 0.3% to 0.5 % of the water will affect the adsorption capacity of bleaching clay section).

Decolorization process of sunflower oil refinery plant
Degumming of sunflower oil can remove grease in oil pigment to improve oil color, adsorption of aflatoxin and trace metals, phospholipids, other gum and other impurities. It ensures high quality of sunflower oil and improves oil stability.

Deodorization process of sunflower oil refinery plant
Control oil temperature to 250 ~ 270 ℃ when decolorized sunflower oil enters into deodorizer, in direct steam injection, the free fatty acids, ketones, aldehydes and other impurities are removed from the oil, the thermal decolorized action also occurs, and the pigment composition is cleaved distilled from the oil. Deodorized vacuum (absolute pressure) controlled at 266 Pa, the deodorization time is about 2h.

3. Oil furnace: provide enough heat for the refining sections which need high temperature of 280℃.
4. Vacuum pump: provide high pressure for bleaching, deodorization which can reach 755mmHg or more.
5. Air compressor: dry the bleached clay after bleaching.
6. Filter press: filter the clay into the bleached oil.
7. Steam generator: generate steam distillation.

Refining,discoloring and deodorization tanks:
The refining tanks is mainly used for hydrating, alkali refining and dehydrating in vegetable oil reifnery process; the discoloring tank is used for decoloring, drying and cooling oil; stainless steel deodorization tanks is used for intermittent deodorization for high grade cooking oil and salad oil.

Degumming
The purpose of Degumming Vegetable Oils is to remove Gums. All oils have hydratable and non-hydratable gums.

Some processors prefer not to perform caustic neutralizing. Instead, they prefer Physical Refining in 20tpd peanut oil refining machine in which the FFAs are evaporated from the oil under high temperature and vacuum. This peanut oil refining process can be combined with deodorization step described under FFA stripping.
Physical Refining process is preferred because (a) it does not produce soaps; (b) it recovers fatty acids that provide better cost recovery; (c) there is smaller yield loss compared to caustic refining—especially for oils with higher FFAs; and (d) it is a chemical-free process.
Bleaching
The purpose of Bleaching in 20tpd peanut oil refining machine is to remove color pigments contained in Vegetable Oils. The oil is treated with Bleaching Clays that adsorb the color pigments. The clay is filtered and the clean bleached oil is stored for further processing. Process flow diagram is attached.

Deodorizing
The purpose of Deodorizing Vegetable Oils is to remove odor substances. The oil is subjected to steam distillation under high temperature and vacuum to evaporate all odor substances. The resulting deodorized oil is almost bland and tasteless.

The working principle of Groundnut oil solvent extraction plant
The material(for pretreatment) is sent to the extractor by the screw conveyor .The mateiral will be sprayed for extraction by the solvent(Hexance) or mixed oil(miscella) after they fall into the extractor. The wet dreg(after dripping), falling into the conveyor and be sent to the evapo-separated machine. After steaming, baking and desolventizing, the dreg will be sent to the dreg storehouse. Mixed oil after extraction enters into the first and second long tube evaporator for seperating the steam and solvent, and then flow into the stripping tower for desorption the remaining solvent of crude oil. The extracted oil from the last process will be sent into the crude oil tank for refining plant.

The solvent vapors from the extractor, evapo-separated machine, evaporator, stripper tower will be recycled in the cooling system. The solvent after cooling will be collected in the fresh solvent tank for reusing in the process.

Main equipment of Groundnut oil solvent extraction plant:
(1) Solvent pumps: continuously spray solvent to the rotary-type extractor;
(2)Roary extractor: Spray and soak the pre-pressed cake with solvent so that oil fats can be dissolved in solvent(form miscella). After processing, you can get wet meal and miscella (mixed oil).
(3)DTDC: usd to separate the solvent from the wet meal.
(4)Miscella tank 1st: pump the miscella (oil with solvent) in to the miscella 1st , and then add 10% saline water to it. The phospholipid and impurities in the miscella will react with the saline wter,at last the reactant precipitate, reaching the goal of purifying.
(5)Miscella tank 2nd: the purified miscella will be pumped into it.
(6)Miscella stripping: it will remove the remaining solvent in miscella. And the solvent will be discharged to condenser for recycling.
(7)Condensers: used to cooling the solvent gas separated from the wet meal and miscella for recycling.
