2. Husking/dehulling/shelling: Oil seeds like peanut, sunflower seed, cotton seed, palm kernel, etc, have hard shells above nuts. Husking/dehulling/shelling is to seperate shells from nuts.
3. Drying: Reducing oil seed moisture to proper moisture is drying. Oil seeds might be harvested in rainy season with a high moisture, which leads drying to be essential for storage and further processes.
4. Crushing: Mechanical size reduction process is also named crushing. For big-size oil seeds, crushing reduces its size to benefit flaking, while for prepressed cake, crushing turns cake to proper size and creats better oil yeild for second press or solvent extraction. Crushing is always necessary for soybean, peanut, palm kernel, coconut copra, tung oil seed, etc.
5. Softenning: Softenning adjusts moisture and temperature of oil seeds, softens and increases plasticity of oil seeds. For low-oil-content oil seeds (soybean, rape seed/canola, cotton seeds, etc), softenning is an essential process for better flaking effect. For example, oil content of soybean is 18-22%, while soybean is hard, low-moisture and low-temperature, flaking will bring plenty of powders without softenning. However, this needs to be stressed that whether softenning is needed still depends on the properties of oil seeds.
6. Flaking: Flaking presses oil seeds from granulous to laminar, which brokes cell tissue of oil seeds and creats beneficial condition for cooking. Flaking also makes oil flows out smoothly when pressing or solvent extraction.
7. Puffing: Puffing turns oil seeds(cracked, flaked, or whole seed) to polyporous matters, which improves solvent permeability in extraction and increases leaching rate.
8. Cooking: Cooking is to wet, heat, steam and to cook flakes to change the internal structure of flakes, including destorying cells, protein solidification and denaturation, etc. All these changes makes oil easy to isolate and also enhance crude oil quality.
9. Pressing/prepressing: Pressing/prepressing is to press oil from oil seeds or cakes. In general, there are several oil press machine for this step.

What's the application of Vegetable oil refining plant?
The refining machine can process different kinds of raw crude Vegetable oil.

What's the process Vegetable oil refining plant:

(1)Pump crude edible oil into refining tank and heat with conduction oil, and the temperature will reach about 70°C-80°C after one hour.

Add acid or alkali to separate according to the acid value. After one hour's processing and 4-6hours deposit, then convey soap stock to storage tank.

(2)Pump refined oil into decoloring tank. When it is up to 90-110°C after one hour's heating, add clay into tank for 20min's processing. Then separate clay and oil with filter.

(3)Put decolorizing oil into deodorization tank with vacuum pump. Heat and process with steam for odor removal. After filtering, you will get final oil product.

The whole process for small crude oil refinery machine includes oil seeds pretreatment, oil seeds solvent extraction machine and oilseeds oil refinery sections.

1. Craft flow for seed pretreatment workshop

Main Equipments: 

1. Magnetic box: Clearing the iron impurity in the oilseeds. In order to avoid the harmful to the following machines, the iron impurity need be moved first.

2. Cleaning: There are many different imputities in the oilseeds, such as small stone, earth, straw and so on. They are not only broken the machine, but also effect the quality of final oil. 

3. Puffing machine: The size of oilseeds is very small, so it's not easy to press it. We will puff it and make it to small pellet. Then it will absorb more solvent in the solvent extraction section. The more oil will be extracted out.

4. Plate dryer: The water content of the extractor must be about 10%, so the dryer is used to adjust the water content in this step.

Main Equipments:

1. Roary extractor: The spray and soak the cake with solvent, so that oil fats can be dissolved in solvent 

(form miscella). After this step, wet meal and miscella (mixed oil) are got.

2. 1st evaporator: The miscella (mixed oil) will be sent to 1st evaporator to separate the oil and solvent.

About 85% of oil can be separated from the mixed oil in this step.

3. 2nd evaporator: After the separating in the 1st the evaporator, the mixed oil is sent to 2nd evaporator.

By the higher temperature and vacuum, 95% of the oil is get out from the solvent.

4. Stripping tower: This is the lastest step to separate the mixed oil. In this machine, all the oil will be seperated from the solvent.

5. DTDC toaster: The cake from the extractor will enter the DTDC toaster. The solvent in the cake can be moved out. Then the solvent can be recycled. The cake after separating solvent will dried in the toaster. Then you can storage it directly.

6. Condensers: The solvent from evaporate, stripping tower and toaster will recycled by the condenser. Then the running cost will be reduced.

Main Process:

1. Degumming and deacidification: The gum and acid in the oil will moved in this step. There are different ways to process it. The physical way is suitable for low acid oil and big capacity, while the chemical way is suitable for the small capacity and high acid oil.

2. Decolorization: The white clay is used to move the color of the oil. For different market, people like different color oil, so you can control the color by the quantity of the white clay.

3. Deodorization: The oil will have the special smell of the oilseeds. It also contains the smell of white clay, so we need more the smell which people don't like. The high temperature steam is used to move the smell of the oil.

4. Winterization: There are much wax in the rice bran oil, so the winterization part is needed to move the wax in the rice bran. After moving the wax, the oil can keep clear in low temperature.
